This site is published by Travis Armstrong, an enrolled member of the Leech Lake (Pillager) Reservation Band of Ojibwe Indians of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. He belongs to the Loon clan.

He has won five writing awards from the Native American Journalists Association and was the first member of a federally recognized tribe to serve as the editorial page editor of general interest daily newspaper in the United States.

He holds a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and a master’s in anthropology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
